IDSA's Educational Requirements

There are no formal education or experience requirements set by IDSA for candidates before they participate in the certification exam. IDSA recognizes that dietary supplement professionals gain their knowledge through a mix of work experience, educational activities, and mentoring, and that it is very difficult to define a comprehensive prerequisite in these areas.

IDSA’s objective is to measure an individual’s mastery of a specialized body of knowledge and deem it acceptable to industry standards.

Certification Renewal

An integral part of most certification programs is the requirement of annual renewal and the need for continuing education credits. While continuing education is often a challenge for the busy professional, the IDSA makes it as easy as possible by recognizing, as well as providing, many options for accumulating the needed credits.

The IDSA is the first dietary supplement organization providing professional certification for those who inform or advise on the use of dietary supplements.
